Yahoo! taking a dive into social networking

Yahoo had been having this social feature for quite some time now, where the user would have to share his status updates. Then it would be visible to his friends if he had a mutual both way following and friend approval. But now with the concepts of Facebook and Twitter gaining steady grounds, Yahoo is determined not to fall behind in the race.

The new features that Yahoo boasts of lets users share their updates irrespective of a both way follow, a feature pretty similar to that of Twitter. Yahoo users would now be able to see each others updates much more easily than before with the new features that doesn’t require a both way follow or friend approval. It will be interesting to see how Yahoo regains its market share in the social networking segment where it hadn’t had a great time amidst the big players.
